Pulling Back the Veil

If you could pull back the spiritual veil and see what Satan is doing in these last days would it be of interest to you? If you could see how he is sending out so much information on the internet, the news media, and You Tube to confuse Christians and set them up to be taken captive by the coming Antichrist would that be of interest to you? We live in an age that has been called the information age, because most of the world’s population has immediate access to nearly every subject known to man. So prolific is this information that it would be impossible to fully understand or to assimilate it with our finite minds. The world is on information overload, and there is nothing they can do about it. In the information age, many half truths are circulating over the internet and social networks.

Let’s assume for a moment that God has pulled back that spiritual veil and he has allowed you to see everything that Satan is doing by filling the airwaves and cyberspace with his half-truths and miss-information to lead God’s children into bondage, what would you do? Well, that is the very topic of this blog. In the last Great War both sides would send miss-information to the other side in the hopes that they would take the bait and move their troops into an area were the enemy was waiting to ambush them. I believe that Satan is doing the same thing in the last days. He is sending out miss-information with the hope that Christians will also take the bait and be defeated by the enemy. Some of the things I have seen people post on Facebook from the internet are absolutely mind boggling. I am afraid if Christians start believing some of these half-truths and miss-information then it will lead them to do something completely out of character for a Christian. To do so will lead them to be arrested as enemies of the State and treated like terrorists.

I would like to spare you of that, so I am pleading with you to spend all of your time learning the truth of who you are in-Christ. This will be your sure defense against the enemy and his half-truths. The Apostle Paul said that God will send a deluding influence so that people would believe the lie because they refused to love the truth. How strong is this deluding influence is beyond our comprehension, but I can say that many will fight you to retain what they perceive is the truth found on the internet. In these last days we need to be lovers of the truth not of half-truths and miss-information found on the internet. The truth will not spend all of its time trying to uncover some supposed plot by the enemy or unearth some secret organization to unite everyone together into the New World Order. These things will surly come, but we are called to occupy until He comes by spending all of our time in true inconvenient service one to another. Our true identity in Christ is service one to another and if Satan can mess with that, which he is doing on the internet, then Christians will be soundly defeated.

There are many things which our Lord told us to watch, such as earthquakes in various places, wars and rumors of wars, famines, and the increase in wickedness. We should also be aware of the great distress which is already upon us as detailed in the book of Revelation, but again this should not keep us from our task. Our goal has not changed in two thousand years and must not change just because we are now living in the age of the internet. The goal is the same: spreading the gospel of peace between God and man, engaging the real enemy, warning people to flee from the wrath to come by embracing Christ, and loving one another through inconvenient service. Finally, warn but don’t chase every rabbit on the internet looking for the truth, because it could lead to your demise. While I will admit there are some good Christian sites committed to just teaching the truth of God’s Word, to help you grow in Christ and fulfill your calling, they are few and far between.

Uncloaking the Deception

Before uncloaking the deception we need to know just how powerful it will become. It is so powerful that everyone on the planet that has not loved the truth so as to be saved will be deceived. It is said that it’s so powerful that if possible even the elect would be led astray. Now that’s powerful. It is written that God will add to this deception by sending a powerful delusion to all those who have refused to love the truth so that they will believe the lie. So to uncloak the deception we must love the truth. The truth has always been there and clearly delineated in His Word, but in these last days it’s lost to all those who have pushed God out of the way. The more He is taken out of the way in both public and private spheres the easier it becomes to believe the lie. Have you not noticed there is a new insurgence growing in the hotbed of civil unrest in America? This is a movement to overthrow God, to evict him from the school room, to remove Him from the text books as the Creator, to remove prayer and His commandments from the classroom, to remove the nativity scene from public places, to remove Christ from Christmas by simply referring to it as the holiday season. And the list goes on, but slowly, step by step God is being taken out of the way so that the man of lawlessness can come on the scene showing humanity how they can obtain all their dreams and aspirations apart from God.

When the deceiver comes he will oppose and exalt himself over everything that is called God or worshipped by displaying his many counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders. On the surface his self help programs looks good, because they appear to help people to become all they envision themselves to be. On the surface the world’s counselors and their psychotropic drug program will appear to actually help people to escape their emotional and psychological bondage. His government programs to care for the sick and elderly will appear to actually help them physically to recover from a debilitating disease or extend their life. In fact, what makes this deception so powerful is it actually appears to work, a blind person receives his eyesight, a crippled person walks again, or perhaps even a dead person may come back to life. In a world that is ravaged by emotional and psychological trauma or suffering from an untold number of diseases that’s effecting our planet it would be difficult for most to reject a person who promises to have a cure just for their trust. But trusting in anything or person leads you to believe the lie and refuse to love the truth.

The man of lawlessness (or the Antichrist) “will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped.” Indeed he will require the entire world to place their trust in him and all of his programs to the exclusion of everything that is called God or is worshiped. An executive order will outlaw the exclusiveness of Christianity and replace it with tolerance for other world religions and perverted lifestyles. Many even today have seen Christianity and every other world religion as the main obstacle in holding back man in achieving his greatest goals in perfecting a global society. On the other hand it would take an entire book to describe all the achievements of Christianity in the advancement of humanity. Yet, with the coming of the man of lawlessness the secret power of lawlessness will be finally revealed in men and women advancing in their self-esteem and unlocking the so called secret power in each of them to become the perfect person they imagine themselves to be apart from God. As we fast approach the end of days, I am convinced that this deception will capture the hearts and minds of many who claim to be Christian.

To uncloak this deception in the last days it will be absolutely essential to love the truth. And the truth is that God created you in the beginning and is now re-creating you in Christ Jesus to be the perfect man in Him. To love the truth believes that God is at work transforming you from one degree of glory to another so that you can participate in the divine nature. To love the truth understands the mystery of godliness that you can’t but He can, if you won’t He will. To love the truth knows that God has given you everything you need for life and godliness. You will never build the perfect world apart from Him. You will never be all that you envision yourself to be by following some self-help program. Nor will you find relief from your emotional and psychological trauma through the world’s counselors or their psychotropic drugs. Finally, you will not find true physical healing apart from God; otherwise all of your prayers have been in vain. Dear child please do not be deceived – you can do nothing apart from God. Self must die so that Christ can live in you to the glory of God. Take God out of the way and you will open yourself up for the greatest deception ever to descend upon the planet, but love the truth and you will uncloak the deception.

Suffering for Christ

Why must we suffer for Christ? As we fast approach the end of days this is one question you want answered. The Bible says, “For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake” (Phi 1:29). There are many kinds of suffering. Some suffer because of their own wicked lifestyle or bad behavior, which is not suffering for the cause of Christ. It deeply saddens me to see Christians caught up in all manner of wickedness and paying the price for their bad behavior. I have counseled many a Christian to make the right decision to only see them make just the opposite causing them untold suffering and pain. Clearly many reap what they have sown casting a dark shadow on them, their family and the Christian community.

Others will suffer because of the wickedness of others, not because they are necessarily a Christian, but because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. In a world filled with evil predators, being street wise, and taking all the extra precautions will not always protect you from an onslaught of tragedy. Again, these unfortunate people cannot claim they have suffered for the cause of Christ. However, in the later case God can and will use such suffering (trials and tribulations) for your eternal good for the good of others depending on how well you stand up under it.

Another type of suffering which will greatly increase in the last days is through famine, disease, plagues, and all manner of so called natural disasters. Again we cannot claim that this suffering is for the cause of Christ. I cannot stress how important it is to allow these trials and tribulations have their full effect. I know at this point many will be tempted to ask, “Why is God allowing this to happen to me or to my family!” Many of us have already experienced the horrific outcome of an earthquake, flooding, hurricane, tornado, or a raging forest fire. We may have already experienced the extreme pain of a debilitating disease or one of the many plagues descending upon the planet. And as they increase in number and severity it is essential that we understand God’s role in it and our Christian response.

The best starting place is to look at it from God’s vantage point, to look at it from an eternal perspective. Almost always we tend to look at things from a very limited perception. We are so caught up in the immediate pain and the trauma of the moment it is very difficult to see or grasp what is happening. If we look at our suffering from God’s eternal perspective then our tragic circumstance is only a millisecond in comparison to eternity. Moreover, God will use our experience to strengthen our character and total dependence on Him. If we approach our suffering with the right attitude knowing that the testing of our faith develops perseverance and if we allow our perseverance to finish its work then we will be made mature and complete lacking nothing. (See James 1:2-4) As the metal passes through the furnace to remove the dross and strengthen the alloy so we too must pass through the furnace of affliction to be made perfect in Christ Jesus.

On the other hand, very few in the Untied States actually suffer for the cause of Christ. Why is that? Simply put it is because they are so similar to others; their sameness will not allow them to suffer, but if they were truly different from the world then they would suffer. This is another reason why tolerance is so popular in today’s world because they can appear to be the same and not take a course of being different which would always bring about swift rebuke from the world. As we near the end there will be two kinds of Christian, one that will look and act just like the world, while the other will grow further apart from the world looking more like Jesus Christ. This later group, which we will refer to as true believers in Christ will suffer persecution as polarization increases between good and evil. However we view suffering we must view it as a benefit given to us by God for our spiritual growth in Christ, so that we may truly participate in the fellowship of His sufferings. To stand firm in the last days we must seek total transformation in Christ Jesus praising His name to be counted worthy to suffer for Him.
