The Ultimate Choice

There is a defining moment for every Christian where he will be forced to make a choice, a choice that may well decide if he lives or dies. It will be a decision so monumental that it would define his eternal destiny. Throughout history God has been calling His people to make a choice and not to waiver between two opinions. As we fast approach the end of days you will be asked once again to make that choice. We live in a cosmopolitan world that is embracing every man’s religion for the sake of unanimity and peaceful coexistence. As immigrants flood the world’s cities from various countries, cultures and religions the walls that had separated them for centuries come tumbling down as they meet, talk, and share a common social interest. While some of the older generation has stayed in their cultural confines, most of the young have ventured out to intermingle, share religious ideas, and even intermarry. A new tolerance has risen, that has not been seen since that first truly cosmopolitan city of ancient Rome; a city that embraced every religion, every god, and every idol known to man. Quite frankly it did not matter how many household gods you had as long as you did not claim one to more superior than the rest.

Perhaps it’s not surprising that we have a president of the United States of America that has also embraced this new tolerance and has said as much in an interview on March 27, 2004 with Cathleen Falsani, a reporter for the Chicago Sun-Times. When she asked about what he believes, he responded in part: “So, I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place (speaking of heaven), and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people. That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived”. When she asked if he was a born again believer, he responded in part: “Yeah, although I don’t — I retain from my childhood and my experiences growing up, a suspicion of dogma. And I’m not somebody who is always comfortable with language that implies I’ve got a monopoly on the truth, or that my faith is automatically transferable to others. I’m a big believer in tolerance. I think that religion at its best comes with a big dose of doubt.” Obama’s view on the new tolerance was confirmed in his speech to the Muslim world in Cairo before the Arab Spring, where he put the Torah, the Koran, and the Holy Bible all on the same level. (See my blog post: President Obama Denies the Exclusiveness of Christianity). The new tolerance cares not which religion or god you worship as long as you don’t make one more superior than the rest.

Yet, the whole spirit and tenor of the New Testament proclaims Jesus Christ as the Only Begotten Son of God, who is the only way to salvation. Indeed He is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Will you deny that truth or uphold it in the face of violent opposition? The early Christians did, because they were convinced that no one other than Jesus Christ would receive their unswerving allegiance or worship; that no king on earth would usurp that place of authority. Will you be willing to die for that truth? Or will you be swept away by the new tolerance which opens the gates for the Antichrist to proclaim himself as being above everything that is worshiped. You might ask: how will that happen? It does so in the same way that it allowed Caesar to proclaim himself as a god and be accepted by the pagan masses. If you make all religions equal in the sight of man as this new tolerance does, then it’s an easy step for any man to proclaim himself to be a god and entitled to your worship.

This is why it’s absolutely essential for every Christian to stand against this new tolerance sweeping the planet by proclaiming the old truth that Jesus Christ is the only way to the Father and the only name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. (See John 14:6; and Acts 4:12) This is one dogma that’s worth fighting and dying for! Let me encourage you to reject any notion that we should create a dialogue with other world religions for the sake of peace thus giving them credence that they worship the same God as Christians. We must not lose our testimony and witness to a dying world for the sake of unanimity and peaceful coexistence. Let us come out and separate ourselves from those who want to follow this new tolerance. To do so my friends, may well classify us as religious fanatics allowing us to take our rightful place alongside those early Christian martyrs. I write this with a heavy heart, because I know that the time is short. We must stand firm.

Uncloaking the Deception

Before uncloaking the deception we need to know just how powerful it will become. It is so powerful that everyone on the planet that has not loved the truth so as to be saved will be deceived. It is said that it’s so powerful that if possible even the elect would be led astray. Now that’s powerful. It is written that God will add to this deception by sending a powerful delusion to all those who have refused to love the truth so that they will believe the lie. So to uncloak the deception we must love the truth. The truth has always been there and clearly delineated in His Word, but in these last days it’s lost to all those who have pushed God out of the way. The more He is taken out of the way in both public and private spheres the easier it becomes to believe the lie. Have you not noticed there is a new insurgence growing in the hotbed of civil unrest in America? This is a movement to overthrow God, to evict him from the school room, to remove Him from the text books as the Creator, to remove prayer and His commandments from the classroom, to remove the nativity scene from public places, to remove Christ from Christmas by simply referring to it as the holiday season. And the list goes on, but slowly, step by step God is being taken out of the way so that the man of lawlessness can come on the scene showing humanity how they can obtain all their dreams and aspirations apart from God.

When the deceiver comes he will oppose and exalt himself over everything that is called God or worshipped by displaying his many counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders. On the surface his self help programs looks good, because they appear to help people to become all they envision themselves to be. On the surface the world’s counselors and their psychotropic drug program will appear to actually help people to escape their emotional and psychological bondage. His government programs to care for the sick and elderly will appear to actually help them physically to recover from a debilitating disease or extend their life. In fact, what makes this deception so powerful is it actually appears to work, a blind person receives his eyesight, a crippled person walks again, or perhaps even a dead person may come back to life. In a world that is ravaged by emotional and psychological trauma or suffering from an untold number of diseases that’s effecting our planet it would be difficult for most to reject a person who promises to have a cure just for their trust. But trusting in anything or person leads you to believe the lie and refuse to love the truth.

The man of lawlessness (or the Antichrist) “will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped.” Indeed he will require the entire world to place their trust in him and all of his programs to the exclusion of everything that is called God or is worshiped. An executive order will outlaw the exclusiveness of Christianity and replace it with tolerance for other world religions and perverted lifestyles. Many even today have seen Christianity and every other world religion as the main obstacle in holding back man in achieving his greatest goals in perfecting a global society. On the other hand it would take an entire book to describe all the achievements of Christianity in the advancement of humanity. Yet, with the coming of the man of lawlessness the secret power of lawlessness will be finally revealed in men and women advancing in their self-esteem and unlocking the so called secret power in each of them to become the perfect person they imagine themselves to be apart from God. As we fast approach the end of days, I am convinced that this deception will capture the hearts and minds of many who claim to be Christian.

To uncloak this deception in the last days it will be absolutely essential to love the truth. And the truth is that God created you in the beginning and is now re-creating you in Christ Jesus to be the perfect man in Him. To love the truth believes that God is at work transforming you from one degree of glory to another so that you can participate in the divine nature. To love the truth understands the mystery of godliness that you can’t but He can, if you won’t He will. To love the truth knows that God has given you everything you need for life and godliness. You will never build the perfect world apart from Him. You will never be all that you envision yourself to be by following some self-help program. Nor will you find relief from your emotional and psychological trauma through the world’s counselors or their psychotropic drugs. Finally, you will not find true physical healing apart from God; otherwise all of your prayers have been in vain. Dear child please do not be deceived – you can do nothing apart from God. Self must die so that Christ can live in you to the glory of God. Take God out of the way and you will open yourself up for the greatest deception ever to descend upon the planet, but love the truth and you will uncloak the deception.

Satan’s Other Mandate

Most Christians are familiar with Satan’s mandate to wage war against the children of God, but what is his other mandate? Indeed, we are aware that Satan is already waging a spiritual war with very real physical ramifications. With the increase in mental stress and a myriad of unsolvable psychological problems, we have witnessed a rise in psychotropic drug addiction on the verge of crippling a nation and claiming countless lives. Think of the many that claim the name of Christ but remain in bondage to the new world religion in disguise. Their total dependence on the world’s counsel has left them stranded and afflicted by their psychological trauma. Add to this, the havoc caused in many Christian homes with an increased temptation to sexual infidelity, an alternative lifestyle, or failure to accept parental responsibility. As the war rages against the church it is difficult to see that Satan has yet another mandate against the greatest nation on earth. And clearly the Untied States of America is that nation.

This great nation in the last days is often referred to in the Bible as the great city. What makes this city or nation so great will help us to understand Satan’s other mandate. There are actually two things that make her great among the nations. First, she is extremely wealthy by the world’s standards. The rich and famous (kings and rulers) in other nations around the world may come close to the wealth and prosperity of America but most of their population continue to live in poverty and great distress. It is clear that other nations at least among its ruling class and their merchants have grown wealthy from the excessive luxuries of the United States by producing our coveted goods in their factories. Secondly, we are seen as the greatest nation on earth because of our great power. Not only do we have the greatest and most feared army in the world, but we also rule over the kings of the earth. Not only is our military stationed around the world for our national interest, but we are paying out billions of dollars in aid to countries where we may not have a military presence.

Why are we paying out all this aid to other countries in the world? Is it because we are a righteous nation, a bright and shining city on a hill that has a great desire to help others even as our national debt continues to skyrocket? Or is it for some other more sinister reason? Let me ask you a question. Can you imagine our government giving out free money with no strings attached? No of course not! If we cannot control a nation militarily then we will do it with strings attached for what we deem as our national interest, but clearly another form of ruling others and dictating our foreign policy. Additionally, they happily receive our nation’s promiscuous life style, addiction to seductive entertainment coupled with a real hunger for wealth and prosperity. Moreover, they readily accept a mandated tolerance so that they too can dabble in other world religions, psychology, and the introduction of psychotropic drugs.

But let’s return to our original question. What is Satan’s other mandate? Not only is he interested in causing Christians to stumble by defeating them spiritually, but he also wants to physically destroy her nation and all those who reside in her sphere of influence. As we shall see this attack is real and the outcome is horrendous. “The beast and the ten horns (other nations in league with him) you saw will hate the prostitute (the great city). They will bring her to ruin and leave her naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire” (Rev. 17:16). Satan’s other mandate is to destroy the United States of America. Clearly to destroy our economy will leave us naked. To be soft on Iran and her segregate nations could open the door to death and destruction on a biblical scale. We must ask ourselves why God is allowing this to happen, especially in lieu of the following verse (v.17) that indicates that He has allowed them to reign to accomplish His purpose. Have the sins of the United States gotten so bad that they have become a stench to His nostrils?
